Start with photographs from the same walk or recurring location. A coherent palette cannot be learned by combining unrelated swatches gathered from across Japan.
Record season, weather, light, material, and camera before editing.
Select representative files
Choose skin or a familiar neutral, living seasonal color, human-made accent, shadow, and bright highlight. Include every camera used in the set.
Reject files whose color problem comes from severe clipping or an unintended mixed-light failure.
Build the palette in order
Choose profile, correct white balance and exposure, shape tone, then adjust specific colors. Use Color Grading only after scene colors are stable.
Keep seasonal variation visible; consistency does not require identical greens or skies.
Test and document
Review in grid view and at final output size. Save repeatable creative settings while excluding frame-specific exposure, white balance, and masks.
Name the preset for observed behavior and place, not for a broad cultural claim it cannot support.
